Dear Prayer Partners,                            November 2010

Job said that he would seek his God. . . “Which doeth great things and unsearchable; marvellous things without number: Who giveth rain upon the earth, and sendeth waters upon the fields:” (Job 5:9,10)  That's our God!  He does GREAT THINGS!  Our desire is to promote a high view of our God in our ministry.  Your prayers on our behalf help us do that!

We get emails from family and friends in the lower-48 saying that “summer is gone, and fall is here.”  What fall?  A quick glance out our window and it's obvious to us that we have seen the last of grass until the end of April!  Earl has already used the snow plow and is trying to locate tire chains for the 4-wheeler.  It's difficult to push the airplane in on the icy ramp!  Winter has arrived.

Earl and Jeremiah had good fellowship out in the woods during hunting season.  That's what they say when they come back empty handed.  “We didn't kill anything, but we had good fellowship!”  The night they were dropped off, a pack of wolves came through and rounded up any moose and chased them to another zip code.  Oh well.  No moose or salmon this year.

The ministry at Manley continues to be a blessing.  We are looking forward to when the water freezes solid so that some of those who live on the lakes and rivers can make it in.  At the same time, once the snow gets deep, some won't be able to come to church.  They will be stuck in until April or May.  We are grateful for all visitors, but we know that some probably will never come back.  In this matter there is no difference  between villages and big cities.  God's Word divides.  Lately, one man stated he disagreed with me strongly because, he said, the Bible is just the opinions of a bunch of men and is not perfect, although he couldn't give an example of an error.  It's convenient to believe the way he does, but ultimately it's fatal. it's a sign of the times.  Please pray the Holy Spirit will work in his heart this long, cold winter.

We spent more time (and money) working on our airplane than we did flying it this month.  A magneto quit  doing its job while Earl was returning from St. Lawrence Island.  Thank you,  Anchor Baptist, for helping with the unexpected cost!  We were able to make two flights out to Selawik this month. We flew the Henshaw family out a few days ahead of bringing the missionary family (the Comptons) out for a short furlough. By using Mission Air Care, the Comptons saved about $4000, not including about 1000 pounds of freight costs. So you do realize that when you pray and give to our ministry, you are actually helping several others in the process . . . don't you?  You help their dollar go much farther.

Even with savings like this, we believe we will be able to save even more once the second airplane arrives.  The phrase “The devil is in the details” is very appropriate when it comes to this deal.  It can be difficult to determine if it's the devil fighting us or our God is protecting us.  Either way, please pray for us!  We expect to be able to give a good report next time.

We have had some who used to receive our email updates, tell us that they no longer receive them.  So if you didn't get this, please let us know . . .  just kidding.  Seriously though, please know that we want and need as many as would be interested in what the Lord is doing through our humble work, to be updated.  The easiest way to subscribe to this service is to go to our web site and click on the Subscribe button on the home page.

We enjoyed having the Nathan Cain family here for ten days during October.  Nathan desires to serve the Lord with his flying and mechanic skills and came up to survey Alaska.  Please pray for God's clear directing in this family's life.  Also, there are two other families who are praying about coming to Alaska in the future.  It sure would be exciting if the Lord sends some more laborers into the field of Alaska!

Early this year we sensed the Lord's strong directing in an area of our lives.  He was leading our family to transfer its membership over to Wyldewood Baptist Church in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.  Wyldewood has an aviation ministry called Wings as Eagles and is extensively  involved in missionary aviation.  Pastor Randy King has been a friend for years, as have many of the men in the church.  Those who know Pastor King and Wyldewood Baptist Church know they are strong, conservative and Bible believers.  There are no words to describe what a blessing our friends at Calvary Baptist have been over the years.  Calvary is still a strong supporter of our family and ministry, just in a slightly different role.  If anyone has any questions, please feel free to contact Earl.

You may not realize how your prayers have carried us through this year.  There were many tough decisions, long hours of maintenance, thousands of miles of rugged terrain flown over, and scores of Bibles handed out and the Gospel presented to souls this year. Together we have watched our Lord do  “great things and unsearchable; marvellous things without number:”  Thank you for your part in it.

Your friends,

Earl, Lynn, & Jeremiah Malpass

Church Planting

Manley Baptist Fellowship is a group of Believers who either live in, or within 40 miles of Manley Hot Springs, Alaska.  It is not unusual for folks to fly in, boat or 4-wheeler in (in the summer), snow machine in (in the winter), or just walk in for services on Sunday!

Without MAC five young men wouldn't have been saved

Your friendship and help over the years has been a real blessing. Without MAC (Mission Air Care) five young men wouldn't have been saved. These young men are still active in our ministry and helped all week with VBS.
